Four Party Ideas to Level Up Your Next Virtual Party

In the current climate, it’s harder than ever to stay connected with friends and family. Calling a friend to meet up for a happy hour after work isn’t a possibility right now, and attending a concert or similar event seems like a far-off dream. While we can’t make any of those things happen any sooner, we can provide you with some unique virtual party ideas that you can organize with your friends. Some of the ideas listed here are entirely virtual and won’t cost you a cent. Others require some supplies and preparation.

Read on to discover some ideas for virtual events that will create some very real wonderful memories:

Bob Ross Painting Party

If you and your friends like Bob Ross or want to follow one of his painting videos together, this virtual party idea is for you. Before the party, you need to decide which video you’re going to watch together. Watch the beginning of the video to learn what supplies are needed and make sure everyone has a list. Although the good news is if you do this once and it’s a hit, it’s easy to keep hosting similar parties as Bob Ross has many painting tutorials and generally uses similar colors and supplies in each one!

Airbnb Online Experiences

If you miss traveling with your friends, Airbnb Online Experiences might be just what you’re looking for. This newly launched program allows you to book experiences with hosts located throughout the world. There is a per-person cost associated with this and the price varies depending on what experience you want to book. For example, you can take a cooking class with a Moroccan Family and learn how to make some traditional food. No matter which experience you pick, you and your friends will walk away from the event with new skills and memories. It’s a great virtual party idea for all ages and demographics.

Powerpoint Party

Powerpoint presentations are something that not many of us enjoyed in school, but a PowerPoint where you and your group of friends create and present powerpoints to each other with incredibly niche and weird subject material? Now that’s a great virtual party idea. Powerpoint parties have been popular for a few years and they’re simply a party where attendees bring a prepared presentation on a variety of niche topics. Think “Why the Baseball Scene in Twilight is a Cinematic Masterpiece” or “Ranking the Musical Numbers in Mamma Mia! By How Much I Want to Participate In Them” – the more specific and random, the better!

Wine or Beer Tasting

If you’re looking for a way to spice up a regular virtual happy hour, consider a virtual wine or beer tasting. In fact, many small wineries or breweries are hosting these events virtually. This can be a great way to support your favorite local winery or brewery! If you can’t find an option like that, you can decide what everyone will be drinking. Just make sure that these are wines and beers that everyone has the ability to get. During the party, you can serve as the master of ceremonies. To do this, you can prepare some notes about the drinks beforehand and then read them out during the party. To level up the experience, pick some cheese or other snacks that will pair well with the wine!
