4 apps and online programs for planning an event
Planning an event can be a very time consuming and exhausting task.
No matter the size of the event, there are so many little details and nuances to consider along the way.
Whether you are a super organized person by nature or quite the opposite, some assistance in making plans can go a long way.
Here are some of our favorite apps and platforms for planning an awesome event!
Social Setters – Planning
Not to start out this list tooting our own horn BUT we would consider ourselves number 1 if you are hiring an event planner or just need an organizer for a special occasion. Social Setters is a 24 hour online event planning platform and service. You complete our Start Planning event checklist, once submitted, your event profile is assigned to a Social Setter who will plan your event based on the all the details you provided. How cool is that? Planning packages start at $39.99 and are based on our level of involvement. It’s like having your own personal event planner or concierge in your back pocket. No event is too big or too small and we make sure to stay within the budget you have indicated. Okay, Okay, enough about us, thank you, NEXT.
Canva – Design
If you’ve never heard of Canva, it truly is one of the best design platforms for entry level or mid level graphic designers. Heck some of our senior folks even use it for quick designs. For anyone planning an event, the simplicity of this platform allows you to make edits to pre-designed templates for a range of collateral. There are design templates for just about anything event related. You can design invitations, place cards, thank you cards, programs, seating charts, flyers, signs, and more. For example, let’s say you are planning a Bridal Shower. You can type in Bridal Shower in the search bar to see all the Bridal Shower associated templates. From there you can change text, colors, fonts, photos, and just about anything else. Creating an account is free, super easy and allows you to get designing in no time.
Blackbird RSVP – Invites/Guest Tracking
Nowadays everything has gone digital, and so have invites. Blackbird RSVP allows you to create an online invite for your event and collect RSVP’s. You’ll choose from easily editable template styles for your event, you’ll be able to make changes to text and colors, and add images then once you are all set, you will create a custom URL for your event invite page. Finally, you will decide what information you will receive from your guests in order to RSVP; name, email, phone number, etc. You can then send out email invites through the application or opt to send out the invites via the custom URL link on your own. To RSVP, your guests will click your event invite, add their info, and that’s it! Simple as 1, 2, 3. You’ll be notified when you have a new RSVP, you can even download your guest list when you are ready, and much more! A single event (meaning to set-up one event), is $39 which is well worth it. And yes, it’s mobile friendly so your guests can RSVP right from their mobile device! No excuses, are you coming or not!
Zazzle – Party Favors/Decorations
We absolutely love Zazzle! It’s a go-to for party supplies and favors. The best part is you can basically personalize and customize everything! From plates, banners, hats, tags, t-shirts, fans, napkins, matchboxes, bar signs, guest books,YOU NAME IT! All you need is a theme and a little imagination from there you’ll be off to the races. What sets apart Zazzle from other online marketplaces are their online licensed shops which have designs of licensed and trademarked items. So let’s say you are planning your daughter’s first birthday and it’s a Frozen theme, well look no further, Zazzle will have everything you need complete with Elsa, Anna, and Olaf with customization options!
We’ll continue to add to this list over time so that you have a resource and directory for planning life’s everyday events!
