Things to do if you’re single on Valentine’s Day
Okay so you’re alone for Valentine’s Day. Ask a few couples and those who’ve been married for awhile and they might offer to switch places with you in a heartbeat. Now, maybe you don’t want to be single, but you just simply can’t find someone to complement the awesome person that you are, which is totally fine.
This Valentine’s Day, find solace in loving yourself.
Here are some super fun ways to celebrate this Valentine’s Day and make it all about you.
Spa Day
No one ever said “I’ll pass” to a day of pampering. Sometimes people waiting on you hand and foot is exactly what you need. Book a full day spa experience, massage, pedicure, facial or whatever floats your boat at a spa in your city or town. If you’re on a tight budget, run yourself a nice bath, grab some candles, a bottle of wine, and relax.
Galentine’s and Guylentine’s Day
Make it a day date or night meet up with your friends for Valentine’s Day! True, some who are in relationships might have plans in the evening so get together for an extended lunch. If you are gathering with your other single friends, look-up some hot spots hosting Valentine’s Day events for singles. Eventbrite is a great place to take a look. Or you can opt for a dinner at a local restaurant; to make it special for your group inquire if they have a chef’s table or private dining.
Take a quick trip
Valentine’s Day this year happens to fall on a three day weekend (whoo hoo)! So get out of town, no really. A quick road trip and a stay at a boutique hotel sounds like the moves. Bring along some tunes, a good book or magazine, or even that hobby that you’ve been holding off on starting. Check to see if the place you are staying has any activities or wellness programs, it wouldn’t hurt to get a little exercise in while you’re away.
Spend time with family
What a great day to spend some time with your biggest fans. Whether your parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins or the dogs, it’s a perfect opportunity to reconnect with the ones you love. Surprise a family member with some take-out from their favorite restaurant and a good movie. You don’t need an excuse to show love to your family, but love is love, why not celebrate them on Valentine’s Day.
And to the couples celebrating Valentine’s Day, just remember it shouldn’t take one day out of the entire year to show that person you love them, Valentine’s Day is everyday!
