Unconventional Wedding Color Palettes You Should Try

Unconventional Wedding Color Palettes You Should Try

If you’re planning your wedding, congratulations are in order! Weddings are fun and exciting, but they can be stressful. There are a lot of little things to consider that you might not even have been aware of before you started planning – for example, what kind of chairs should you have during the ceremony? Small things can seem like big things, and while it can get overwhelming, you should focus on the fact that your wedding is a celebration of you and your partner and the love you share. While sorting out some of the details might be boring for you, picking a color scheme has the potential to be a lot of fun! You can pick a muted version of the colors of your favorite sports team for a subtle tribute to something you both love, or pick vivid bright colors just because they make you happy. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with pastels, but there’s no rule saying you have to stick to them. If you’re looking to add some color to your wedding decor, but aren’t sure where to start, here are some unconventional wedding color palettes to consider!

Green and Gold

An unconventional wedding color palette can still be elegant, muted, and beautiful and a green and gold color combination is a great example of this. Green pairs well with gold in general, so you can pick any shade of green that you personally like. A deep emerald or a muted sage are both great options to consider.

Pink and Teal

For a retro flair, incorporate shades of pink and teal into your big day. A mostly white setting with baby pink and muted teal accents can be refined while also being fun and airy. This color palette works well for a summer celebration.

Shades of Purple

Instead of picking contrasting colors for your wedding palette, try different shades of purple for an unconventional option. Pick a light shade, a medium shade, and a dark shade to add some texture to the palette. Plum and lavender are great options to start with, and you can add accents of silver or gold depending on what you prefer as purple goes well with either.

Red, Orange, and Pink

Reds, oranges, and pinks are common wedding colors in certain cultures and traditions and it’s easy to see why. They’re vivid, beautiful, and the bright colors just make you happy and give you a boost of energy.

Rust, Cream, and Orange

For a rustic ambiance, pick rust tones for your wedding color palette. It works well paired with cream and pops of orange. A breezy cream-colored dress works well with a rust-colored suit. Weddings with this color palette can also incorporate sage green accents by using certain flowers and plants for decor.
